"Our greatest happiness in life does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits."
~Thomas Jefferson
- Is it possible to be happy if you do not have a good conscience?
- What do you think is required for someone to be happy?

As we live each day, we are faced with a plethora of twists and turns that shape the course of our day, week, month, year - and ultimately our lives. Maintaining a positive outlook on life reinforces the positive mentality that we project and as such, we live happier because we surround ourselves with happiness.
One may think that happiness is a state of mind. I would agree. I am happy, and as it relates to today's morning cup of hot cocoa, I do believe that having a clear conscious plays into having the great happiness - most definitely - but happiness as it stands alone is not contingent on a clear conscious. For we are forever making mistakes and if one was to dwell on said mistakes, their happiness (and with it their health) would undeniably suffer.
Furthermore, everyone's definition of happiness is different and thus to define a criteria for happiness would continue to be submit to revisions, objections, additions, and omissions. I think... to be truly happy... one only needs to love... and be loved in return.
